| Selection #1 - finally here.... |
Now that the cable to hook the mixer and PC together has finally shown up....I can actually post some music on here!
As some of you may know, I did radio shows for a long time, both in the US, and the UK - over 18 years, on and off - and then I stopped. Because I figured I could do much the same thing myself online....regular selections of music, for people to enjoy however, and whenever, they wanted to. And so it was that the idea for The Phonographic Society was born. It's basically just me, and the occasional invited guest, playing some records we like, one after the other - hopefully for your enjoyment. It's going to be a regular thing, just like the radio show was.
And that first selection (I can't mix in the proper sense, so calling them mixes seemed a bit stupid) can be grabbed right here....:
Selection #1 - No longer available, sorry!
What is it? Well, almost 78 minutes of music for dancefloors. Any dancefloor - maybe your kitchen, your bed, your computer chair, your bus ride to work....it's entirely up to you.
You get the music now, and the tracklists later - posted at the site once the mix itself is taken down (in a couple of weeks), and a new one posted in its' place. Although, in the meantime, you could have fun guessing what they are. Updates will be regular, but not on a set schedule - every few weeks most likely. Sometimes more frequently, sometimes less.
Basically, this site is a compromise - between doing radio and getting steadily more unhappy with it, and something else more fun, like being able to burn regular mix CD's for all of my friends. Hopefully it's a happy medium between the two.
Just know that I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't care.... |
